Henry VIII(her father) – Mary wasn't close to her father, he stripped her of her title as princess and forbade her from seeing her mother. (1)

Jane Seymour – Jane was a widow that became the 3rd wife of Henry VIII. When Henry married her, both of his daughters were welcomed back to the castle. Out of all of the wives Henry married only Jane gave Mary the affection she been longing for. When Jane died, Mary was the “chief mourner” at the funeral. (15)
Philip II of Spain – Philip was the husband of Queen Mary, but the marriage only lasted four years. He abandoned her when she was arrested. (3)
John Knox – John wrote a pamphlet explaining why he thought women should not be in ruling and pointed out two examples of why they shouldn’t be ruling a country. One example was Queen Mary I of England, he discussed her actions and how they were wrong and how it tied into women not being ruling. (18)
Katherine Parr – Katherine was a wife of King Henry VIII, and like Jane Seymour, she was nurturing and befriended Mary. When Edward became king he sent letters to her about his insecurities. With them sending letters to each other, Katherine was able to influence his opinion on Protestism. (27)
John Dudley – John didn’t want Mary to be queen because of her Catholic beliefs. He helped Edward during his reign. (34)

Hugh Latimer – He was a bishop and supported Cranmer. He had fully supported the divorce between Henry and Catherine. As well as having full support on Henry’s marriage with Anne Boleyn. (38)
Thomas Cromwell – He was the chief minister of Henry. He only wanted riches and a promotion. He had the decision if whether or not Henry should have divorced Catherine. (39)
Cardinal Wolsey – He was the most important minister, but lost his power when he did not secure the divorce between Henry and Catherine. (40)
